Will they find a compromise? Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt have been at war over the custody of their children for years, and it appears they’re still ironing out the details, because the exes are reportedly locked in discussions. The actress has filed a stipulation which would grant them more time with their private judge.

The trial had appointed the very same private judge who officiated Brad and Angelina’s wedding ceremony in the past, Honorable John Ouderkirk. According to The Blast, the parties requested Judge Ouderkirk be extended until December 31st, 2019, instead of his original end date, June 2019. Angelina reportedly wants him to oversee all the pre-trial motions and requests, and then handle the private custody trial if needed. It appears the famous exes are trying to ensure they have enough time to reach a settlement without the hassle of going to court.

Brad, 54, and Angelina, 43, have been battling over the custody of Maddox, 17, Pax, 15, Zahara, 13, Shiloh, 12, as well as 10-year-old twins Knox and Vivienne since they parted ways in 2016. Angelina and Brad have reportedly decided not to subject their kids to the rigors of a trial. “The former couple finally realized the ongoing fight is only hurting the children, and although they have not yet signed off on the agreement, it’s expected to be finalized very soon,” sources previously told the publication.

“They are working towards agreement, but nothing has been agreed upon,” insiders also told In Touch. “There is nothing in writing and no deal has been made.”

On Sept. 19, 2016, the actress filed for divorce from Brad, citing irreconcilable differences as her reason. “This decision was made for the health of the family. She that the family be given their privacy during this difficult time,” her attorney told People. Brad’s rep added on his behalf: “I am very saddened by this, but what matters most now is the well being of our kids.”
