Jennifer Lopez’s ‘Rebound’ Romance With Brett Goldstein Was ‘Never Going to Turn Into Anything Serious’ (Exclusive)

Brett Goldstein is still extremely sweet on Office Romance costar Jennifer Lopez after their on-set flirt fest, a source tells In Touch, but the feeling does not appear to be mutual.

“She had fun with him, there’s no denying that, and she still thinks he’s a genuinely lovely guy, but it was never going to turn into anything serious for her,” reveals the source. “Right from the start, she saw him as a rebound.”

As In Touch previously reported, Lopez, 56, began filming the raunchy romantic comedy just three months after she finalized her divorce from ex-husband Ben Affleck in January.

“No doubt he would’ve liked it to go further, but he just doesn’t tick all the boxes for her,” says the source. “She is someone who has a very clear vision for her life, she knows what it takes for a man to hold her interest long term and she doesn’t want to set anyone up for failure.”

Lopez isn’t just protecting Goldstein. She’s also protecting herself too.

“This isn’t just about what she wants on a personal level,” In Touch’s source explains. “She has brand J.Lo to think of and after being dumped so publicly by a huge A-list movie star like Ben, her next boyfriend needs to match him on every level, from star quality to bank balance.”

According to Celebrity Net Worth, the Oscar-winning actor-director, 53, is $295 million richer than the Ted Lasso star, 45.

“As great as Brett is, he doesn’t hit the mark,” admits the source.
