Well, this is awkward. Imagine if the same guy that officiated your wedding was the same guy that could grant you a divorce. For Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie, this is their current situation.

Honorable John Ouderkirk has a long history with the Jolie-Pitt family. Back in August 2014, he married Angelina and Brad at their Château Miraval estate. So, things probably got awkward for him a few years later when the actors chose him to help them sort through the details of their divorce. He probably didn’t realize how nasty the custody battle would soon become!

However, the Maleficent actress is reportedly not a fan of their current judge and was not happy that he stayed on their custody case, sources told The Blast. One of the reasons could be that the judge let Brad spend more time with the kids, and he even warned her that she could lose custody if she didn’t agree to his request.

The Fight Club actor would prefer all of this to end outside of court, though. “He reached out hoping to persuade Angie that the hearing will cause lasting psychological damage to their children. There will be no winners, no matter what the judge decides,” an insider revealed to Us Weekly.

Angelina told the BBC in February 2017 that their family is trying to get through this “very difficult time.” She said, “We will always be a family and we will get through this time and hopefully be a stronger family for it. My focus is my children, our children…finding a way through this.”

She doesn’t seem to be keeping her word though and is only hurting her kids in the end. A source told E! News, “The last two years of their lives have been very difficult and stressful. The kids are aware of what’s going on. They’re old enough to get it and it’s hasn’t been good for anyone.”

Hopefully these two can work things out — once and for all.
