The Saturday Night Fever legend, 72, had fans doing a double take as he unveiled a noticeably different look on the red carpet on Friday, May 15. Travolta stepped out on the red carpet wearing a black suit with a matching black vest and crisp white dress shirt. He paired it with a cream-colored tie and matching pocket square.
However, the biggest standout was his cream beret that he donned along with wire rim glasses and a sharply groomed beard that was noticeably darker.
Comments about his different look quickly flooded social media.
“He looks amazing for 72 just very funny to start dressing like Ed Harrisin The Truman Show for no reason,” one person wrote via X.

Another person referenced Travolta’s role in Welcome Back, Kotter, writing, “This is the natural evolution of Vinnie Barbarino.”
A third person added, “WHO is that and what have they done with John Travolta?!”
Travolta’s directorial debut, Propeller One-Way Night Coach, premiered at the film festival and he was awarded with an honorary Palme d’Or, one of the Cannes Film Festival’s highest honors recognizing major contributions to cinema.
“You said this would be a special night, but I didn’t think you meant this. This is a humbling moment,” the Look Who’s Talking actor told Festival head Thierry Frémaux when receiving the honor, per The Hollywood Reporter. “This is beyond the Oscar.”
