On Tuesday, June 30, the former L.A. Mayoral candidate reposted an article on X from the New York Post with the headline “Ghastly video shows ‘Lilo & Stitch’ actress Daveigh Chase wasting away on Skid Row months before death.”
“This poor beautiful girl is dead because nobody was willing to drag her to rehab against her will,” Pratt, 42, wrote on X.
As far as treatment was concerned, Chase’s longtime manager, John Ryan, told the outlet he and the Ring actress’s step-sister, Gaia Brown, were trying to locate her with a private investigator and get her checked into rehab.

“We were so close to finding her,” Ryan, who said he learned about the video in late 2025, told the publication. “Daveigh was the sweetest and brightest light in Hollywood. I can’t believe this is real. Her legacy and work will live on forever.”
However, her father, John David Schwallier, told The New York Times he hadn’t spoken to Chase since she was 19 and that she “had struggled with drugs since the age of 13.”

As In Touch previously reported, Chase passed away on Tuesday, June 16, at just 35 years old. TMZ reported on Monday, June 29, that the L.A. County Medical Examiner listed her primary cause of death as acquired immunodeficiency syndrome (AIDS) and put chronic polysubstance down as a significant condition.
While the reality TV star’s bid to be the mayor of L.A. came to an end earlier this month — with Karen Bass and Nithya Raman moving on to a runoff election in November — he released a video on his social media pages on Friday, June 12, explaining he’s “moving onto the next more interesting phase,” and that he “got in this to expose this corrupt machine, and nothing’s changed.”
