Mom Time! Angelina Jolie Buys Toys for Her Children While on a Trip to Rome

When in Rome. Angelina Jolie was spotted with her brood perusing a toy store in Rome on Sunday, October 6. The Jolie-Pitt clan looked happy as can be in the Italian city. She spent the day shopping with her four youngest children.

The 44-year-old has been known to take her kids everywhere with her. She recently took her children —Pax, 15, Zahara, 14, Shiloh, 13, Vivienne and Knox, 11 — to the premiere of her new movie, Maleficent: Mistress of Evil on Monday, September 30. Although Maddox, 18, couldn’t attend as he is busy studying at Yonsei University in Incheon, South Korea, his siblings appeared to be having a blast.

The Jolie-Pitt kids are not strangers to a red carpet. The brunette beauty said her kids are used to the spotlight. “The good thing, I think, is I’ve wanted them to be exposed to it all,” she told Extra on Sunday, September 29. “It’s part of their life, but it’s not important to them and a center of their lives in a way that’s unhealthy, so it’s all fun.”

Although she and her kids are always in the public eye, it’s clear her first priority is to motherhood and not her public persona. “You have to go through everything — everything leads to something else, and it’s you,” she explained. “Hang on. That’s what I would say to my younger self. Just, ‘Hang on. You’re gonna love being a mom.’”

Luckily, Maddox didn’t have to miss out on all the fun — he joined his mom for the Maleficent premiere in Japan on Thursday, October 3. Daughter Zahara also joined the two on the red carpet. Days before, she said she couldn’t wait to be reunited with her oldest son. “He’s great. I know he is solid. He’s fine, but I need [the hug],” she told Extra.

Back in August, Angie dropped Maddox off at college for his freshman year. As he is so close with his mother and siblings, it was a big transition for him. “Maddox is leaving the tight-knit family nest and while there have been some tears, he’s super excited about starting this new journey,” a source exclusively told In Touch. “He told his siblings that they have to listen to Pax now, which they all laughed at. Pax probably took it the hardest, but he’s tough and doesn’t cry, all the other kids got teary-eyed. They’re all going to miss their oldest brother, who’s always been kind and a very calming presence, even when he was little.”
