Angelina Jolie’s Son Maddox Is ‘Super Excited’ About Starting College in South Korea

He’s ready to expand his knowledge! Angelina Jolie was all smiles while dropping off her son Maddox at the Yonsei University in Incheon, South Korea, in new photos shared on Wednesday, August 21. Maddox will be studying biochemistry while working to obtain his college degree and a source tells In Touch exclusively that he’s “super excited” about this new chapter of his life.

“Maddox is leaving the tight knit family nest and while there have been some tears, he’s super excited about starting this new journey,” the insider tells In Touch. “He told his siblings that they have to listen to Pax now, which they all laughed at.”

“Pax probably took it the hardest, but he’s tough and doesn’t cry, all the other kids got teary-eyed. They’re all going to miss their oldest brother, who’s always been kind and a very calming presence, even when he was little.”

Angelina, 44, was beaming with pride in the new photos and video captured by Jin En Yu. When asked about her visit, the actress said, “I leave today,” before confessing how emotional she felt. “I’m trying not to cry,” she added.

The A-lister has been trying her hardest to stay strong while supporting her son’s big new venture. “She’s so proud of Maddox,” the source tells In Touch. “She initially thought he might want to stay in Los Angeles and get into movies and animation.” As fans may recall, the 18-year-old, whom Angelina shares with her ex, Brad Pitt, 55, previously took a tour of New York University back in February.

“Angie laid out a path for Maddox and a love of Asia, but she never thought he’d continue his studies in South Korea, let alone go to college there and study biochemistry,” the insider concluded.  “She couldn’t be more proud of him.”
