From Radio Host to Hot Topics: Check Out Wendy Williams’ Transformation Over the Years

How you doin’?! Known for being larger than life and always knowing the right thing to say, Wendy Williams has gone through quite a transformation over the years. From taking risks on her radio show to being outspoken on her former talk show, we have seen her grow into the badass we love today.

Not only have we seen the star break down Hollywood’s elite and get us the real tea we are looking for, but we have watched her go through heartbreak and health scares, too. Wendy has been open about her struggles with a previous cocaine addiction and complications from Graves’ disease. More recently, she shared that she has lymphedema — a condition that causes swelling in the arms and legs.

However, Wendy’s health took a turn for the worse in July 2021, which led her to take a step back from hosting her show. Thankfully, celebrities like Leah Remini, Sherri Shepherd and Michael Rapaport helped the Think Like a Man actress by filling in as guest hosts. Sherri later took over the Wendy’s show’s time slot in February 2022 with her own show, Sherri.

Wendy opened up about her health struggles during a March 2022 interview with Good Morning America claiming that she was “comfortable” and “ready” to get back to work.

“Give me about three months,” she said. “There are private things that I have to deal with and then I’ll be ready to come back and be free and ready to do my thing.”

Beyond her career, her love life also went crashing down. Wendy finalized her divorce from her husband of 25 years, Kevin Hunter. She disclosed that her former manager was unfaithful and even fathered a child with another woman. After all of that, Wendy is still on top and better than ever! Wendy is starting over and embracing her new life as a single gal. She told Andy Cohen in September 2019 that she is talking to “many men” and we love to see it!

In August 2021, the talk show host shared a special man in her life on her Instagram account. “My son’s 21st birthday party on the yacht in #Miami was everything he wanted,” her Instagram caption ready. “Even my boyfriend.” However, after she introduced her boyfriend to fans online, she hasn’t mentioned the mystery man since.
