Wendy Williams Files for Divorce From Husband Kevin Hunter After Over 21 Years of Marriage

Say it isn’t so. Wendy Williams is filing for divorce from her husband, Kevin Hunter, after nearly 22 years of marriage, a source confirms to In Touch. It’s no surprise to fans that Kevin and Wendy are splitting up. For years, there have been rumors going around that Kevin, 46, was allegedly cheating on the talk show host, 54, with his mistress Sharina Hudson.

However, the duo remained strong, and the Dancing With the Stars alum even slammed reports that they were having marital issues. “I want to shout out to my husband. I am still wearing my ring,” she said on an episode of The Wendy Williams Show in March. “Believe me, when you’ve been with somebody for 28 years, married for 25 years, then … When we got married, we waited like four years before doing the baby projects and stuff. So, we know each other. He is my best friend, my lover, he’s all this, and he’s all that. I know what you’ve been saying, and I know what the streets have been talking about. … Don’t ask about mine until you see this gone,” she said, referring to the piece of jewelry.

On Thursday, April 11, the New Jersey native didn’t appear to be wearing her wedding ring while she was on TV. Immediately, fans speculated that a divorce was imminent. One person wrote, “Wendy Williams is not wearing her wedding band on today’s @WendyWilliams indicating her marriage is officially over,” while another echoed, “Is #WendyWilliams wearing her flower ring in place of her diamond today on her show??? Let me know what you think/or see.”

The fashion designer recently spilled to her viewers that she is staying at a sober house as she continues to battle addiction, and it seemed like Kevin was dedicated to helping Wendy work through her issues. “We’re doing well as a family. We are moving forward with working on her sobriety and doing the work to help others, not just ourselves,” the 46-year-old told Entertainment Tonight. The pair got married on November 30, 1997, and have one son named Kevin Hunter Jr.

It’s unfortunate that things had to end this way, but it seems like it’s for the best.
