Carrie Underwood‘s performance at the John Deere Classic golf tournament on the 4th of July seemingly underwhelmed several people online who bashed the country star.
Underwood, 43, took the stage at TPC Deere Run on Saturday and a viral clip of her singing her hit song “Before He Cheats” had critics slamming the performance.
“Never thought I’d see the day she would sound bad,” one person wrote via X.
Another added, “She’s not even fit to sing karaoke.”
Others blamed her perceived political views for the alleged low turnout at the event. While Underwood hasn’t publicly stated where she stands on the political spectrum, she sang “America the Beautiful” at PresidentDonald Trump‘s second inauguration, leading many to believe she leans conservative.

“That’s what going MAGA will do to ya!” one X user wrote, while another added, “[Expletive], that ideology really sucks away all the talent.”
A fifth person chimed in and said, “Carrie Underwood used to sell out large arenas, went full MAGA, and now performs for tens of people on a golf course.”
The viral clip appeared to show a small crowd, but according to a report from Quad-City Times published on Sunday, July 5, the group was estimated to be around 12,000 people.
“Such a fantastic show here in Illinois,” Underwood said in a video shared on X. “Great 4th of July crowd. I love seeing all the flags and stars and stripes in the audience. It made my heart so happy. Thank you for coming out! Happy 4th of July!”
