They’re working together. Talk show host Wendy Williams’ husband Kevin Hunter spoke out about his wife’s sobriety and said that she’s “doing well,” according to Entertainment Tonight. Kevin — who has been married to Wendy, 54, since 1997 — said, “We’re doing well as a family. We are moving forward with working on her sobriety and doing the work to help others, not just ourselves.”

Kevin, 46, continued, “It is a family process. Anybody that has to deal with this knows this a family process … and we are dealing with it and moving forward.” That’s all anyone can really do when dealing with something as complicated as addiction.

On the March 19 episode of her talk show, The Wendy Williams Show, Wendy revealed she is currently living in a sober home as she continues to battle addiction. She explained that she struggled with a cocaine addiction in the past and didn’t get the help she needed, but now — with the help of a sober coach and a consistent daily routine — she’s fighting the good fight as best as she can.

Earlier this month, Wendy and Kevin started the 888-5HUNTER hotline to help those affected by drug addiction and substance abuse, Entertainment Tonight reported. Meanwhile, many of her staff members didn’t know the extent of what the host was going through. “They all knew something was up but didn’t know details. The staff have all been kept at arm’s length,” one source told Radar Online on March 19. “Everyone has been walking on eggshells,” said a second insider. “She’s literally isolating herself and trusts no one.” Hopefully, that doesn’t include her husband and family, because it sounds like they really want to help her move forward together.

On March 4, Wendy returned to her show after a six-week hiatus. At the time, she addressed her health battle with viewers but didn’t reveal the addiction struggle she’s facing. The host explained that after some thyroid issues she suffers from returned, her doctors adjusted her meds. However, after they did so, treatment started to affect her Graves’ disease — an autoimmune disease that also affects the thyroid. Basically, she’s had a rough time of it lately between medical issues and her addiction.

We wish Wendy and her family nothing but the best and hope they can get through all of this with a little help from one another!
