It seems as though Meghan Markle was royally snubbed.
The Duchess of Sussex, 44 — who was not in attendance at Madison Square Garden when Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce were married — apparently was hoping she’d score an invite.
However, the source said that the pop star and Kansas City Chiefs tight end, both 36, “weren’t inviting people for headlines,” adding: “They invited the people they genuinely wanted to celebrate with.”
Still, tons of celebrities showed up over the Fourth of July weekend for the A-list couple.
About 100 of their closest pals were invited to The Garden on Thursday, July 2, for a rehearsal dinner ahead of a lavish celebration with approximately 1,000 people on Friday, July 3.
“Actors, musicians, billionaires, television stars — people were calling favors and working every connection they had,” the entertainment insider added. “Getting invited became a status symbol.”

Seemingly making matters worse for the former Suits star is that Prince William surprised New Heights listeners when he appeared as the July 3 special guest on Kelce’s podcast. The football pro and the Life of a Showgirl artist also met with the Prince of Wales and his wife, Princess Kate, in secret before tying the knot, according to People.
“Taylor has a real relationship with William,” a Naughty But Nice insider noted. “She and Travis really enjoyed spending time with William and Kate. That’s where the connection is.”
When it came to their wedding day, the insider added, “This wasn’t just about who was most famous. It was about who Taylor and Travis actually wanted in the room.”
