Wendy Williams Slams Her Husband’s Cheating Rumors: ‘I Am Still Wearing My Ring’

The rumors may be circulating online about the state of Wendy Williams‘ marriage, but the TV host isn’t having any of it. On Monday, March 4, she returned to her show, The Wendy Williams Show, after a long hiatus and gave her audience and fans an update on her life. But in addition to weighing in on her health, she also addressed the talk that her husband had been having an affair. In the Hot Topic segment, she got candid with her fans, insisting that her husband, Kevin Hunter, was still her best friend and that there’s plenty of love between them.

“I want to shout out to my husband. I am still wearing my ring,” she said on the show. “Believe me you, when you’ve been with somebody for 28 years, married for 25 years, then … When we got married, we waited like four years before doing the baby projects and stuff. So we know each other. He is my best friend, my lover, he’s all this and he’s all that. I know what you’ve been saying and I know what the streets have been talking about. … But, hunty, let me show you who I fell in love with a new you fell in love with. Hit it.”

She then went on to show a slideshow of old pictures of her with her man, filling fans in on the details of what they were wearing, what stages of their lives they were at, and how they feel about each other. “I’m still very much in love with my husband,” she finished. “Anybody who has been married for 5 minutes or 500 years, you know marriages have ebbs and flows. Marriages are not easy.” She clarified that, whatever happens, as long as she has her ring, things are good — or at least good enough. “Don’t ask about mine until you see this gone,” she said.

And she’s intending to hold onto that ring for a while. “It ain’t going anywhere, not in this lifetime,” she insisted. But ultimately, what she really wanted to do was assure her fans that, no matter what, she’d always be real with them. “It’s weird doing ‘Hot Topics’ and being a hot topic,” she continued. “You know what I mean? What I love about our show is you’ve given me permission to be me. What I love about me is I am fearless to give me you. And you might be mad at me one day and I want to watch the show, but you turn me back on three days later and you are like, ‘That damn Wendy. I don’t even know why I watch this — but I like her.’
