Jim Edmond’s Daughter Hayley Drags Meghan King: She ‘Loves Conflict’

Fighting words. Jim Edmonds’ daughter Hayley Edmonds seems like she is happy that her father filed for divorce from Meghan King Edmonds. In fact, the 22-year-old didn’t hold back when talking about her stepmother.

“I’ve been waiting for it. For probably … three years?” she told Us Weekly about their breakup. “I think it’s impossible to be happy with someone so … I don’t know if I would say narcissistic, but she, like, creates her own problems and loves conflict and things like that. The selfishness is miserable for anyone to be around, let alone to be married to her. My whole family has grown closer because we have all had to stay silent in hopes to protect my dad, and no one can do it anymore.”

It’s no surprise that Hayley feels this way since never got along with Meghan, 35, during season 10 of The Real Housewives of Orange County. At the time, Hayley moved in with Meghan and Jim, 49, since her mother, LeAnn Horton, was in the midst of a cancer battle. LeAnn was Jim’s first wife, and they shared daughters Hayley and Lauren together. Unfortunately, LeAnn passed away in July 2015.

Meghan and Jim — who share three kids: Aspen, 2, and Hart and Hayes, both 16 months — got married in October 2014. On October 25, the former athlete — who also shares daughter Sutton and son Landon from his second marriage to Allison Jayne Raski — filed for divorce after an allegedly heated argument with Meghan, where she accused Jim of “having an affair” with their 22-year-old nanny, Carly Wilson.

However, Jim and Carly both denied that anything happened. “For someone to accuse me of sleeping with her is not only wrong, it’s disgusting and irresponsible,” Jim wrote on Instagram on October 28. Carly, for her part, set the record straight on social media after one of her followers asked if the rumors of the affair were true. “The allegations are completely false,” she replied on October 26.

Of course, Hayley is on her dad’s side amid all of the drama, and she defended their nannies after the accusations. “They’re family! They are around every day, and they care about those kids, and they care about my dad because he’s just like … they want to help him,” she said about the help around their house. “They’re just young girls that are just trying to work and be positive and be happy and enjoy their job. And the way [Meghan] stepped over the line is just completely disrespectful, and it’s just absurd.”

Hayley added, “Especially the way that she treated Carly is mind-blowing to me because she holds herself to very high moral standards, and she is a great girl who moved to St. Louis across the country because she loves those kids. And it’s just, I mean, absolutely ludicrous I would say. I can’t even … I keep saying I’m shocked, but I’m not surprised at the way that she goes after people so ruthlessly.”

At the end of the day, Hayley wants her father to pick himself back up and focus on his family. “I’m hoping he’ll put himself first and be happy and be able to be a dad again. And I’m stoked that I can have my dad fully back and not have to tiptoe around Meghan,” she said. “Everyone that cares about him is proud that he finally took the leap of leaving her.”

A rep for Meghan did not immediately respond to In Touch’s request for comment.
