‘RHOC’ Alum Meghan King Edmonds and Husband Jim Split: He Filed for Divorce

Calling it quits. Real Housewives of Orange County alum Meghan King Edmonds and her husband, Jim Edmonds, are parting ways after five years of marriage, In Touch can confirm. Jim filed for divorce on Friday, October 25, after they allegedly got into a heated argument. Us Weekly was the first to break the news.

“Meghan and Jim have been fighting,” an insider revealed to Us, noting how the police were called during their recent dispute. The police chalked it up to a verbal dispute and no arrests were made. “He went to a hockey game and she accused him of being there with someone that he shouldn’t have been,” the source added.

The estranged couple has been trying to work on their issues in recent months. Just one day ago, Meghan, 35, said that she was dedicated to rebuilding their bond in the wake of his sexting scandal.

As fans may recall, the former MLB player admitted that he “engaged in an inappropriate conversation” with another woman in June 2019, but he claimed that it didn’t go any further. Consequently, this led to a divide in his marriage.

“We’re just still working it day by day. I think after such a breach of trust, it’s so hard to rebuild from there, especially [with] so many distractions, like our son’s health problems and two other little babies, as well. And so to focus on the two of us as a couple, is really hard,” the Bravo alum said while catching up with The Daily Dish on October 24.

Meghan revealed they were both trying their best to make an effort, even going to couple’s counseling on a very special occasion. “Today’s actually our five-year anniversary — and so we, he’s inside at Goodwill [and] we’re like, looking for Halloween costumes — and then we’re going to counseling,” the reality star shared. “I think that’s almost a date for us because we have to talk about us; we have to communicate about things that don’t involve [other topics].”

The reality star and ex-athlete said their “I dos” back in October 2014 and while they were together, Meghan and Jim welcomed three children: daughter Aspen, 2, and one-year-old twin boys, Hayes and Hart.

Shortly after Jim came clean about his sexting scandal, Meghan shared a blog post revealing how much the ordeal impacted her. “Marriage is hard, we’ve been through our ups and downs, I’ve talked about it openly. A relationship takes two but it doesn’t take two to cheat,” she wrote at the time.

“I did nothing wrong, I don’t deserve this,” Meghan continued. “I did nothing except be pregnant with our twins and try to have a healthy pregnancy. So what is so broken in him to propel him to do this to me? To us? It wasn’t one mistake, one lapse in judgement. I saw the texts — each one represents his decision to throw our marriage in the trash.”
