More details are emerging in the death of former Alaskan Bush People star Matt Brown, and his brother Noah Brown revealed he was at the scene when Matt’s body was found.
Noah, 33, shared the heartbreaking news in an Instagram Reel on Sunday, May 31.
“It’s late, and I have some bad news. It’s been a long day,” he explained. “For the past couple of days, I’ve been working with search and rescue groups trying to locate the body. Today at 3:27, the group that I was working with located the missing body, and I identified it as Matthew.”
Noah continued, “My oldest brother, Matthew Brown, has passed away. There will be more details later once we get a coroner’s report and everything.”
He went on to thank all of the people that helped locate Matt’s body, including two separate rescue groups before saying he was there when they “pulled” his brother from the river.
“We hauled him up off the bank. And then, after the sheriffs got there and everything, the coroner did his thing, and I went down to identify that it was him,” Noah said. “It’s definitely Matthew. His ID and Social Security card was on him, and I was able to visually identify that it was Matthew.”

As In Touch previously reported, Noah and Matt’s other brother, Bear Brown, posted a TikTok video in which he admitted that the Brown family were worried that Matt had died.
“I’m being told that late last night Matt took his own life,” Bear, 38, said in the video on May 28. “Like I said, I can’t confirm that that’s true, but sources say that he was seen in a river, at a river or close to a river and that he took his own life and they saw him, like, floating down the river.”
He added that Matt “had been struggling” with addiction issues and was estranged from the family at the time, despite their attempts to help.
He also addressed reports that Matt had been active on social media and said those rumors were false.
“Matt only has a YouTube channel. He’s not on Facebook. He’s not on TikTok. He’s not on any of those,” Bear noted. “Those are scammers that are posing as him…He’s only ever been on YouTube.”
