Former ’90s heartthrob Rupert Everett was making his own movie magic to enhance his appearance in his younger days.
The My Best Friend’s Wedding actor, 67, recently spoke to The Guardian in an interview published on Monday, June 1, revealing that for a period of time, he wore a bodysuit in films to appear more buff.
“I met these two queens in Tufnell Park who made bodysuits, and they made me a false bottom, false calves, false shoulders, false everything,” he recalled.

When the publication asked if he wore them in his movies, the Another Country star said “Yes, in everything,” and confessed the directors had no idea.
“I’d go into the fittings for the costumes with all my things on,” he noted.
Everett had a major growth spurt in his teens, going from 5 feet tall at 15 to 6 feet 4 inches at 18, and wasn’t sure how to handle his physique, the outlet explained.
“My arse was like two bones and a hole,” Everett said. “And my legs were skeletal.”

Eventually, the An Ideal Husband actor started hitting the gym but did not train properly.
“I ruined myself. Now I’m almost crippled as a result,” he told the outlet. “I could never be bothered to do all those things, like stretching, which were necessary for lifting weights, because your tendons get tighter and tighter. So boring. I didn’t do any of that. So now my demise will be musculoskeletal, I think.”
Despite the physical issues working out caused for him, Everret still appreciates his old body as he declared, “I was wonderful-looking at one point. I had muscles.”
