Brad Pitt Is Spending the Summer With His Kids: ‘He’s Finally Got the Chance to Catch Up on Lost Time’

Doting dad! Instead of working on movies, Brad Pitt is apparently going to be spending a lot of time with his six kids this summer, a source told Radar Online.

“Brad had this time blocked off to make World War Z sequel and now that it’s fallen apart, he’s decided not to take any other jobs and just be close to his kids for the summer,” an insider revealed to the publication. “He’s finally got the chance to catch up on lost time and can’t wait to take the kids on all kinds of day trips.”

Brad, 55, and Angelina Jolie, 43, filed for divorce in September 2016, citing irreconcilable differences. Now, the former flames are considered “single,” according to court records obtained by In Touch.

The Mr. and Mrs. Smith costars were supposed to go to court on December 4, 2018, since Angie wanted sole physical custody, and Brad wanted 50/50 joint custody of their six kiddos — Maddox, 17, Pax, 15, Zahara, 14, Shiloh, 12 and Vivienne and Knox, both 10. However, Samantha Bley DeJean, Angelina’s attorney, revealed that the Hollywood A-listers finally called a truce in November 2018.

“A custody arrangement was agreed two weeks ago and has been signed by both parties and the judge,” the statement read. “The agreement, which is based on the recommendations of the child custody elevator, eliminates the need for a trial. The filing and details of the agreement are confidential to protect the best interests of the children.”

Now, it seems like the Fight Club alum wants to be the best father he can be. “He’s desperately trying to use this opportunity to rebuild his relationships with Maddox and Pax in particular and wants to bond with them over their new interest in sports and motorcycles, especially after being restricted to just hanging out at his Los Feliz compound for the past few months,” the source dished.

Additionally, it seems like this is the perfect time for his children to reconcile with their father. “There was a time that Brad couldn’t imagine not making this movie, but this has turned out to be a blessing,” an insider explained. “Just as Angelina is picking up a whole load of acting gigs, Brad is seeing it as an opportunity to slow down and be the kind of dad he always wanted to be.”
