Doting Dad! Brad Pitt Loves to Talk to His Kids About ‘Whatever Is on Their Minds’: ‘He’s a Great Listener’

He’s putting in the work! As Brad Pitt abandons the animosity he once shared with ex Angelina Jolie in the wake of their split, he’s also trying to be the best dad he can be. On Wednesday, June 5, a source close to the star told Us Weekly that the actor is doing what he can to stay close with his kids. In addition to dedicating the whole summer to spending time with them, he’s also been making sure he’s an active parent.

“They do simple things like cook or watch movies,” the insider told Us. “He encourages them to pursue their hobbies.” Brad, 55, isn’t just supporting them as they explore their passions, though. He’s also working on being there in the quiet moments when things are calm. “They love to hang out and talk. Brad talks to them about whatever is on their minds — he’s a great listener.”

Of course, part of being a good dad is learning how to coparent with his kids’ mom. “He’s grateful that all the animosity is in the past,” the source continued. “[The kids] come first. That’s what he’s most excited about — being a dad and sharing his life with his children.” Apparently, the parents have also been using an app to help them sort out their schedules after finally reaching a custody agreement in November 2018.

“Brad and Angie have been coparenting, utilizing OurFamilyWizard,” a source told Us on June 5. “[That] has probably been one of the most beneficial tools for their family in terms of keeping things moving forward in the best amicable terms possible. … Once Brad and Angie began using the platform, it allowed them to coordinate the kids’ schedules. They have very busy lives.”

Now that the father-of-six finally has his family life in order, maybe he can start focusing on his romantic life once more. Leonardo DiCaprio has been helping in that regard. “[He] wants Brad to find happiness,” a source exclusively told In Touch on June 5. Leo’s girlfriend, Camila Morrone, “also has friends who’d jump at the chance to date a heartthrob.” Maybe someday soon the actor pals will be heading out for a double date. After all, we have it on good authority that the movie star is a great listener.
