She wants them to know that they’re not alone. The Duggars’ cousin Amy King (née Duggar) shared a raw, real video on her Instagram Story urging moms to share their lives on social media … even if they aren’t camera-ready. “This is my new natural look,” she explained as she appeared makeup-free on camera and after joking that she was a little bit sleep-deprived. “And I think it’s OK for new moms, or just for anybody to just post and be their natural selves without … well, without filters.”

Amy, 33, continued, “Obviously I edit photos. Who doesn’t? But it’s OK to post pictures like this when it’s real life. And you’re soaking in the moment.” She then paused briefly to marvel over her newborn, before adding, “Anyways, just … it’s OK to post when you’re not 100 percent looking 100 percent.” Excellent point, mama.

The Duggar cousin has shared photos and videos of life with her baby son, Daxton Ryan King, since he was born on October 9. “Announcing Daxton Ryan King!” her sister-in-law, Loren Bullard — who also took the first photo of Amy and her husband, Dillon King, with their son — told In Touch right after the little boy’s birth. “Both mom and baby are great and healthy! He was 7lbs 8oz and 20in long. Smooth delivery!”

Amy even joked on her Instagram Story just days after the baby’s birth that breastfeeding made her feel like a farm animal. Say what?! On October 14, she shared a post to her Story that read, “Just finished a 45-minute feeding. I feel like a really swollen, exhausted, happy cow!” LOL.

The new mom also spoke about her recovery from her C-section surgery in another video she shared to the social media platform on October 14. “We love him so much, he’s perfect,” she said while holding little Dax. “And totally worth the pain. Although C-sections are no joke.”

Amy added, “I’m resting a lot. But I have gotten up. I can shower myself. I can pretty much hobble around and kind of take care of myself, for the most part, but I’m not trying to overdo it. But I just wanted to say thank you for all the love and prayers and support that’s come our way.” It sounds like she wants to return the favor and make sure other mamas feel totally supported, too. #NoFilter and all.
