Amy Duggar King slammed claims she is profiting off her husband Dillon King’s medical issues after he was diagnosed with a severe diaphragmatic rupture.
“Hey, everyone. OK, so I am just seeing a lot of comments based on what I was telling [you] about my husband,” Amy, 38, said in a video shared via her Instagram Stories on Thursday, April 10, while setting the record straight. “People have got it so wrong.”
Amy spoke out against the false accusations, telling those who follow her on the social media platform that she “just wanted to come on here and just share my heart for a second.”
“It is so sad to me how people think that I could stoop so low and to think that, like, if you click on the link to read what Dillon’s diagnosis is, that I get paid. Oh, there’s money involved. There is absolutely zero money involved,” Amy clarified about her article with People magazine.
“It’s just a long story, and I just said ‘see the link in bio’ so you know what it is,” Amy explained. “People are just so programmed or groomed to think that everything has to do with money and that there’s always someone looking for a handout. There is not anything like that involved.”

Amy said that she shared his story with the world because she truly felt many would “pray for him, that will lift him up, that will encourage his heart, that will help us as a family as far as just encouraging words.” The mom of one further reiterated, “That is all I’m asking of you guys.”
“Most of my followers, I think support me and they are genuine people, and that’s who I choose to be in every situation,” Amy continued. “There’s just a lot going on, so I’m just asking for prayers and nothing else.”
The Holy Disruptor author previously disclosed that her husband is battling a severe diaphragmatic rupture, which is “an extremely rare and dangerous condition that has caused vital organs, including his kidney and parts of his digestive system, to shift into his chest cavity.”
Amy explained in her interview that doctors found a 4-inch tear in Dillon’s diaphragm, revealing that his right kidney, appendix, colon and small intestines have been “displaced” and that his medical team believes “this is not a quick fix.”
She said it’s been an eye-opening experience, noting they’ve been informed the “risks are high, the procedures complex, and the recovery uncertain,” adding that it has “shaken our family deeply.”
Dillon, 37, and Amy have been married since September 2015.

Amy — who is the niece of former Counting On stars Jim Bob Duggar and Michelle Duggar — shares one 5-year-old son named Dax with Dillon, who she called her “favorite person on the planet” while celebrating his birthday on April 3.
“Y’all I adore this man! Dax has the best dad on the planet and he’s so loved by so many family and friends!” she gushed. “Normally we’d be celebrating in a huge way but currently we are facing some possible life threatening medical concerns.”
“Today I’d like to ask for some prayers on his behalf. I know God has him, but we welcome the prayers!! I can’t think of a better gift for him!”
