‘Teen Mom: Young and Pregnant’ Star Ashley Jones Reveals Why She Might Not Have More Kids

Teen Mom: Young and Pregnant star Ashley Jones shared her thoughts about having more kids while taking to Twitter, revealing there’s a reason why she may not expand her family down the line. The MTV alum opened up about her last pregnancy with her daughter, Holly, admitting her delivery was far from easy.

“40 hours into labor they told me I had a severe case of preeclampsia, and was at risk for seizure,” the 22-year-old revealed. “This led to an ’emergency C-section.’ My [doctor] says it’s a good possibility my next [pregnancy] will be high-risk given the circumstances. Makes me not want another.”

In case you haven’t heard of the complication before, preeclampsia is “when a pregnant woman has high blood pressure, protein in her urine, and swelling in her legs, feet and hands,” according to WebMD. “It can range from mild to severe. It usually happens late in pregnancy, though it can come earlier or just after delivery.”

The TV personality also clarified that she’s not even considering having another child anytime soon, nor is she trying to. “Just becoming very aware that I had preeclampsia and they didn’t catch it, and it was very scary, and there is a risk factor to weigh when I make that decision in the future,” Ashley shared in another message.

After hearing her candid confession, several of her followers showed support and one even lifted her spirits. “I had severe preeclampsia with my first, and they labeled me high-risk with my second, but I had a completely healthy pregnancy and delivery. Every pregnancy is different,” the fan wrote. “Don’t let it scare you away from having more kids.”

Ashley replied and said she “loved” hearing that. The star is currently the proud mom of a daughter, shared with her ex-boyfriend, Bariki “Bar” Smith. On March 5, she shared a sweet photo of herself planting a kiss on her mini-me.

“No one could love me better,” the brunette beauty gushed in the caption.

Even though she and Bar aren’t together romantically, they do coparent their little one amicably. “Bar will always be the father of my child,” Ashley exclusively told In Touch in October 2019. “I think we’re working our best to just be the best parents we can be.”
