‘Young and Pregnant’ Star Ashley Jones Spills the Tea About Relationship Status With Bariki Smith

Family first! Teen Mom: Young and Pregnant star Ashley Jones and Bariki “Bar” Smith have gone through their fair share of trials and tribulations, having split and rekindled their romance in the past year. While chatting with In Touch exclusively, the MTV alum opened up about her relationship status with Bar and confirmed they are dedicated to coparenting amicably.

“Bar will always be the father of my child and I think we’re working our best to just be the best parents we can be,” Ashley, 22, told In Touch. Luckily for fans, a new season of the hit spinoff series is just around the corner, with back-to-back premiere episodes airing tomorrow, October 22, at 9 p.m. PST.

This time around, the reality star said viewers can look forward to watching her evolution. “They can expect to see me doing a lot of growth, as a person, as a mother, just in general,” Ashley proudly revealed to In Touch.

Ashley and Bar’s daughter, Holly, has practically grown up in front of our eyes and she’s starting to reach new milestones all of the time. “She’s just brilliant. Just brilliant. She’s two years old. She’s counting to 20. She knows all of her ABCs. She knows her colors,” the reality star mom gushed about her toddler, who she welcomed to the world in 2017.

When viewers were first introduced to Ashley, the brunette beauty said that she was “more optimistic” than ever about her future, noting how motherhood pushed her to become the best version of herself. The MTV alum has since kept busy with school, working hard to complete a nine-month program to become a medical assistant and she opened up about her exciting journey during our exclusive interview.

“I was pregnant and the program was nine months and so I was like well, ‘nine months pregnant, nine months for a career,'” Ashley explained to In Touch, noting how it seemed like a great way to expand her resume.

In our sneak peek clip from the upcoming season, Ashley has a heart-to-heart conversation with Bar in hopes of persuading him to get his GED as soon as possible. Bar mentions how he was planning on taking the test in the next few days, but realized he wasn’t as prepared as he would like to be.
