Sydney Sweeney’s scrapped cameo in The Devil Wears Prada 2 caused her major embarrassment, a source tells In Touch.
“The producers can make all the excuses they want, but it’s a gigantic slap in the face to Sydney,” a source tells In Touch. “She’s got every right to be furious at the way she’s been treated.”
According to Entertainment Weekly, the Euphoria star, 28, shot a roughly three-minute scene for the highly-anticipated sequel, in which she played herself as a celebrity client being styled by Emily Blunt’s character Emily Charlton, that reportedly wound up on the cutting room floor due to a creative decision.
“It was a huge waste of her time,” notes the source, “and further proof, not that she needed it, that a large contingent of Hollywood … are out to cause her trouble and trip her up whenever they can, which people in her world are attributing to plain old-fashioned jealousy.”

Despite getting cut from the film, Sweeney is “trying to suck it up and move forward,” says In Touch’s source. “But it’s obviously upset her.”
So much so, “she’s thinking long and hard about upping sticks and leaving Hollywood behind,” the source reveals.
The bi-coastal actress has amassed quite the real estate portfolio, per Architectural Digest, including a $13.5 million oceanfront mansion in Summerland Key, Florida.
“She doesn’t need this negativity in her life,” says the source, “so a fresh start in Florida or New York makes a lot of sense at this point.”
