Making a Murderer’s Steven Avery speaks out in the first interview since new lawyer Kathleen Zellner filed her highly anticipated motion, saying he is so confident that he will be proven innocent he’s already thinking about who would play him on the big screen.
On Aug. 26, Zellner filed her motion to have new testing done on several key pieces of evidence that led to Steven’s conviction and life sentence for the murder of photographer Teresa Halbach.

“Hopefully all of the tests will come back good and the truth will come out,” he tells In Touch. “I’m comfortable. I know I have a good attorney and [that she’ll] prove my innocence.”

Steven plans to write a memoir “on my life, how prison was, what I went through,” which he hopes will be turned into a movie with an A-list actor in the starring role.

“Maybe Brad [Pitt],” says Steven, 54, though he can’t remember if he’s seen a Brad flick, thanks to limited access to TV behind bars at Wisconsin’s Waupun Correctional Institution.
“We don’t get too many stations, but we’ve got the news.”
