It appears Mike Vrabel and Dianna Russini’s cozy meetups date back to at least 2020 — six years before their alleged affair scandal erupted this month.
On Thursday, April 23, Page Sixpublished exclusive photos from March 11, 2020, showing the current New England Patriots head coach and former NFL reporter at Tribeca Tavern in New York City. The two were sitting close to each other and an eyewitness told the outlet they “were kissing” and “were all over each other.”
“He had a ring on,” the source said of Vrabel, who has been married to wife Jen since 1999. Russini, meanwhile, was not yet married to her now-husband Shake Shack executive Kevin Goldschmidt, with whom she shares two children. Six months after the alleged 2020 photos of them were taken, Russini and Goldschmidt tied the knot.
The eyewitness also claimed the photos show Russini’s legs “in between [Vrabel’s] legs.”
The duo were at the bar from around 12 a.m. and stayed for at least an hour, the spy claimed to the outlet.
“They were having a glorious time. They were [giving each other] pecks, a bunch of pecks constantly. There was nobody in there. Nobody knew who they were. I don’t even know if the bartenders did,” the eyewitness added.
At the time the photos were taken, Vrabel was the head coach of the Tennessee Titans. Russini, meanwhile, was an NFL reporter at ESPN.
On Wednesday, April 22, Vrabel told ESPN he would miss day three of the NFL draft so he can enter counseling.
“As I said the other day, I promised my family, this organization and this team that I was going to give them the best version of me that I can possibly give them. In order to do so, I have committed to seeking counseling, starting this weekend. This is something that I have given a lot of thought to and is something I would advise a player to do if I was counseling them.”
“I have always wanted to lead by example and I believe this is what I have to do to be the best husband, father, and coach that I possibly can be. This is not an easy thing for me to admit, but it is one that I know will make me a better person. I appreciate the support that everyone has given me and promise a stronger resolve as a result.”
