Kim Kardashian held on to her first engagement ring from ex-husband Kanye West, but she already knows which of her children will inherit the 15-carat stunner.

“That one I’m going to give to Northie because she was with me when I got engaged,” Kim, 44, told her sister Khloé Kardashian during the Thursday, March 13, episode of The Kardashians. “And she held it after and I took a photo. She was just a few months old.”

The Skims founder continued, “My first one that I got engaged with Kanye [was] a cushion cut, and that was the only piece of jewelry that I owned that I didn’t take to Paris.”

Kim was referring to the horrifying incident in 2016 when she was staying in the City of Lights and robbed at gunpoint in her apartment. The masked men, who were dressed as police officers, stole two cell phones, as well as over $10 million worth of jewelry from Kim, who was tied up and gagged in the bathroom and “had a gun to her head the whole time,” according to People.

Ye, 47, later upgraded with a larger 20-carat emerald cut ring which was estimated to be worth approximately $4 million. Kim recalled how she made a video for Instagram before the robbery while wearing both of the engagement rings he bought for her, and the “Carnival” rapper later warned her not to do that.

“Kanye saw it and he goes, ‘Don’t you ever wear both of your rings at the same time. Are you looking to get robbed?’ So, I left my original ring that I got proposed to [with], which was the most important,” the mom of four explained.

Kim has been open about her struggles after the 2016 incident, and she spoke candidly about how it changed her during a 2017 appearance on The Ellen DeGeneres Show.

“I don’t want to start crying, but … I’m such a different person. I really feel like things happen in your life to teach you things,” the American Horror Story star said at the time. “It was probably no secret, you see it on the show, me being flashy, but I was definitely materialistic before. Not that there’s anything bad about having things and working hard to get those things — and I’m really proud of everyone that’s around me that’s successful. But I’m so happy that my kids get this [version of] me. And that this is who is raising my kids. Because I just don’t care about that stuff anymore, I really don’t.”

After the robbery, Kim toned down her diamonds and scaled back on the type of jewelry she wore in public. When she attended Paris Fashion Week in 2018, she was seen only wearing a simple thin band on her ring finger.

“Ever since the Paris robbery, Kim has made many changes in her life. She is much more careful about being flashy,” a source told People in 2018. “She doesn’t wear expensive jewelry every day, so it makes no sense to keep it at the house. Kim is trying to eliminate as many concerns as possible.”
