Khloé Kardashian Slammed by Fans for Sharing ‘Love Thy Racist Neighbor’ T-Shirt Image

This did not go well. Khloé Kardashian was slammed by fans over the weekend for sharing an image of a T-shirt printed with the words “Love Thy Neighbor,” followed by a list of specifications such as “Thy Racist Neighbor” to her Instagram Story, Us Weekly reported March 19. She captioned it “love is the only cure,” but social media followers were certainly not feeling the love when they saw her post.

“KHLOE KARDASHIAN REALLY OUT HERE SAYING LOVE YOUR RACIST NEIGHBOR ???? WHHHAAATTTTTT IS THIS IM SICK [sic]” one person wrote on Twitter. Another tweeted about the controversy and wrote, “I KNOW Khloé Kardashian didn’t just tell me to love my homeless neighbor and my racist neighbor all in one post … this year forreal ain’t her year huh.” The shirt also included marginalized identities like homeless, Muslim, black and gay, and people were definitely not pleased to see “racist” added to the list.

A ton of people brought up the fact that Khloé, 34, is the mother of True Thompson, whose father — Tristan Thompson — is black. “Khloé has a black child talking about love thy racist neighbor lmaoooo” one person wrote. Another responded on Twitter, “Khloé Kardashian has a BLACK daughter & really posted a pic that said love thy racist neighbor BITCH WHAT?? MAKE IT MAKE SENSE IM CALLING 911.” Some people even took to a post the Keeping Up With the Kardashians star made featuring a photo of True on St. Patrick’s Day to call Khloé out some more. “Still loving thy racist neighbor?” one reply read.

This isn’t the first time Khloé has found herself in hot water over her views on race and racism. Back in September, she faced some backlash after talking about race on Twitter when she wrote, “I dislike the fact that people are allowed to comment on my daughter’s skin color but as soon as I comment kindly back and praise her for all that she is, the comment gets erased. If you have the courage to post your nasty criticism please allow one to defend or comment back.”

That comment in and of itself was OK, but when someone replied that they “don’t know how people have the energy to hate on a BABY. What’s wrong with them? Where are their values?,” the reality star responded, “I try to put myself in their shoes &maybe they were brought up in a different type of household then I was. So instead of shaming, I try to educate. In our household, we do not see color. We see emotion and action. We see love. We feed off of energy.” And people were not thrilled with Khloé for saying her family doesn’t “see” color. “If you keep saying you don’t see color, you are going to reap the consequences of your daughter’s experiences,” one person warned.

Khloé did not appear to address the controversy that arose from the image she posted on social media. Do you think the T-shirt was inappropriate?
