Khloe Kardashian Encouraging Rob to Come Back Into the ‘Public Eye’: ‘Starting With Baby Steps’

Khloé Kardashian is still extremely close with her reclusive brother Rob Kardashian and she’s working hard to snap him out of his rut even though most of their famous family has already given up on him, a source exclusively tells In Touch. 

“Khloé is completely ride or die with Rob, she always has been, and she’s still convinced she can help get him back to the outgoing, confident guy he used to be,” the insider says. “It kills her that his spirit has been so broken down by life and she feels like it’s her duty to do everything in her power to help him fix that.” 

The only son of Kris Jenner and the late Rob Kardashian Sr. withdrew from public life after the family’s last show, Keeping Up With the Kardashians, ended in 2021, only really posting on social media to share updates about his daughter, Dream, who he shares with ex Blac Chyna. He was always a bit shy around the cameras, but after years of bullying from fans and the media over his looks and his weight, Rob became almost frightened of being photographed or caught outside by onlookers.

As In Touch previously reported, the 37-year-old former reality star has even resorted to wearing disguises in public to avoid attention. This behavior clearly isn’t normal, a fact that’s not lost on sister Khloé, with whom he was closest growing up.

“People have accused her of having a savior complex when it comes to Rob, but she doesn’t see it that way at all,” the source continues. “You have to remember these two were so close all their lives, like twins almost, so the bond is very, very strong. She can’t just shrug her shoulders and forget about him while he lives like a hermit.” 

Back in December, a different source dished to In Touch that pretty much the only place Rob ever went outside of his own home was to Khloé’s – and usually just to bring Dream, 8, over for playdates with his niece and nephew, True, 4, and Tatum, 2 – but now his solitary situation has become untenable for her, and in an effort to bring him out of his shell she asked him to move into a wing of her palatial Los Angeles mansion.

“She’s got him living in a wing of her house,” the insider confirms. “It’s great for Dream and for True, who loves having her cousin there, but it’s also a big relief for Khloé to be able to check on Rob all the time, just to make sure he’s not lonely, that he’s getting outside for walks or to the gym.” 

As a big sister, “her goal is to get him back to being comfortable in the public eye again this year,” which includes inviting him to make rare comments on her podcast, “Khloé in Wonderland.” 

“She’s starting with baby steps, having him call into the podcast was a great start but she would love to have him come on for a longer interview and ultimately into the studio for a whole sit down.”
