During the Kate Plus 8 special, Kate Gosselin told cameras that daughter Hannah wasn’t able to join them because she’d decided to stay home with dad Jon Gosselin. As it turns out, however, that may not exactly be true. According to Radar Online, Hannah wasn’t invited to join the family trip in the first place. A source close to the family revealed that the reality TV mom has hardly been in contact with her daughter ever since she left home to move in with her dad.

“Kate saying she is supportive of Hannah is outrageous!” the source told Radar. “She has not given her a birthday present. She didn’t even tell Hannah about all of these family trips.” It sounds like things haven’t exactly improved since August, when another insider revealed that the mom of eight only “rarely sees or talks with” her teen daughter. If anything, the situation may have gotten worse.

At the time, the source told Radar that Kate, 44, and Hannah, 15, “do have some contact,” but it’s minimal. And though Jon, 42, allows his ex to “go over anytime she wants” to see her two children that live with him, Hannah and her brother Collin, she “never asks her to come.” In fact, they added that “Kate has made no attempt to see or speak with Collin” at all. Ever since the dad won temporary custody of Collin at a December hearing that Kate didn’t even attend, insiders have indicated that she’s been pretty hands-off with both kids.

Though Hannah reunited with her siblings to take family photos in the fall of 2018, her dad hinted he’d gained custody of her around the spring of that year. “Unfortunately Hannah couldn’t make it to this video … but I’d like to thank everyone for the love and support you’ve showed us this week. Obviously you know the situation,” he said in a May 2018 Instagram post. “If you don’t know the situation, you should just get together with a friend or anyone that understands the situation,” he recommended.

In September 2019, he became even more open about the situation as he accused his ex of “mentally torturing” their kids, claiming she “targeted” Hannah. “I know my children have suffered abuse,” he said. “And I know, one day, they’re going to tell their own story.”
