It seems like Kate Gosselin has pretty much given up on regaining custody of her son Collin. After losing a legal battle against ex Jon Gosselin in December 2018, reports indicate the star has decided to just move forward. According to a source in the Pennsylvania courts, the mom of eight has made no efforts to renew the court case or stay in contact with her son. In fact, the insider told Radar Online that she’s been “relatively quiet” in all regards.

“Kate has made no attempt to see or speak with Collin,” they said. Though she’s kept in touch at least a little with daughter Hannah, who also lives with Jon, she hasn’t made any attempts to regain custody of either child. Per Radar’s reporting, Kate, 44, hasn’t made any legal filings in the case. “[She] rarely sees or talks with Hannah, but they do have some contact,” the source explained. “Jon allows her to go over anytime she wants, but Kate never asks her to come.”

Of course, Jon, 42, has a similarly fraught relationship with his other six kids. Though he recently took to Instagram to share that he hopes “all [of the sextuplets] have a wonderful year in high school,” he doesn’t have much contact with his other six kids. “I see them, but I really don’t have any interaction with [them],” he admitted during an HLN interview in May. “Collin had one visitation with his siblings since he’s been back. We’re working on that.”

For the most part, both parents have just been moving on with their lives. Jon has been building a life together with his girlfriend, Colleen Conrad, and Kate has been busy reentering the dating scene on her TV show Kate Plus Date. “To each his own,” the father of eight said in May. “I just work a normal job. I haven’t really been on reality TV in about 10 years. Although I do come to visit L.A. pretty often and New York, but I kind of just stay out of the limelight as much as possible. I do DJ, but it doesn’t bring the limelight like it did 10 years ago. … If she chooses to do that, she chooses to do it.”
