Joy-Anna Duggar Cuddles Her Son Gideon in First Instagram Post After Miscarriage

She’s got to keep going. Joy-Anna Duggar shared a photo of her son, Gideon, on Instagram on July 15, and he’s adorably cuddling up to his mama in the picture. The shot was simply captioned, “💤👶🏼💙,” and it’s the first post shared to Austin Forsyth and Joy’s shared Instagram account since they suffered a miscarriage and had to deliver baby No. 2.

The last time Joy, 21, or Austin, 25, posted was on July 5, when they shared some of the only photos they may have of the baby girl they lost. “We only had her for 20 weeks, life is fragile and precious,” they wrote at the time. “So thankful the Lord gave her to us for that short time! She will be in our hearts forever!💝😇.”

On July 3, the two of them revealed the tragic news of their miscarriage on Instagram. “Today marks one week since we heard these words … ‘So this is your baby’s heart (pointing to the ultrasound screen). I don’t hear a heartbeat or see any movement.’ We had gone in for our 20-week ultrasound and gender reveal. It was a baby girl,” the Counting On couple shared. “Although we don’t understand why, God has given us unexplainable peace and comfort during this very difficult time. Yes, it still hurts and we have cried countless tears, but we know that we can trust the Lord.”

The couple received an outpouring of support after their loss from several Duggar family members, friends and fans alike. And they got the same thing when Joy shared the latest photo of Gideon. “I think he looks like Austin. So very sorry for you all on the loss of your precious baby girl 😢,” one fan wrote in the comments of the post. Another responded, “My heart hurts for you guys but that little man is the best love a mommas heart could use right now. You continue to be in my prayers ♥️.”

Several people noted in the replies how much Gideon looks like his Aunt Jessa Duggar in the shot as well. Plus, Joy’s friend Carlin Bates commented on the photo, writing, “that face” along with a cute emoji. Carlin rushed to Joy’s side after the miscarriage, and we hope her friendship and support is a real comfort to the young woman at this incredibly difficult time.
