Reality TV exile Derick Dillard has had quite a week on social media. The former Counting On star — who was fired from the TLC show after making transphobic comments about Jazz Jennings — surprised fans when he took to Twitter to invite members of the LGBTQ community to his church. That same day, his church's college campus revealed that they would be hosting a program on "same-sex attraction."

"Tomorrow night we will have an opportunity to hear from Rickey Chelette on same-sex attraction," the post read. "7:30 pm in the Arvest Building!" Someone quickly commented, "Isn't this the 'pray away the gay' guy???"

Rickey Chelette is the executive director of Live Hope Ministries, an organization whose mission is to "proclaim God's truth as we journey with those who are seeking sexual and relational wholeness through a more intimate relationship with Jesus Christ." According to Inquisitr, the man who will speak at Jill and Derick's church campus published an article denouncing the "love is love" motto of marriage equality.

When comments came pouring in on Twitter about Derick's motive, he gave generic responses. For example, when one person asked whether or not his church would try to convert members of the LGBTQ community, he replied simply, "Our church invites ALL to come. I'm open to all who would join our family." Hmm. He added, "If we invite all to come, doesn’t that mean that we accept them into our church?"

Let's not forget that the reason fans are so skeptical about this event is that Derick has been vocal about his views on the matter in the past. Back in August, the 28-year-old took to Twitter to slam his fellow TLC star. "What an oxymoron… a 'reality' show which follows a non-reality," he tweeted at the time. "'Transgender' is a myth. Gender is not fluid; it's ordained by God."

Months later, TLC confirmed that fans wouldn't be seeing Derick on the show anymore. "We want to let our viewers know that Derick Dillard has not participated in Counting On for months and the network has no plans to feature him in the future," the statement read. "We want to reiterate that Derick's personal statements do not reflect the views of the network. TLC is proud to share the story of Jazz Jennings and her family and will continue to do so."
