Jon Gosselin Doesn’t ‘Have a Relationship’ With Ex-Wife Kate Gosselin: ‘We Don’t Talk’

It’s been quite a rollercoaster for Jon Gosselin these past few years following his nasty divorce from his ex-wife, Kate Gosselin. However, the TLC alum finally set the record straight on where he stands with the blonde beauty, and it seems like they are anything but cordial. “We don’t have a relationship right now,” the 42-year-old told Dr. Oz during the Monday, November 18, episode of The Dr. Oz Show now that his 10-year gag order has been lifted. “We don’t talk, nothing. The only time I see my ex-wife is in court.”

The former flames — who share 19-year-old twins Cara and Mady, in addition to their 15-year-old sextuplets: Hannah, Leah, Alexis, Joel, Aaden and Collin — appeared on Jon and Kate Plus 8 in 2007, but their marriage began to crumble once they invited cameras into their home. “Well, Kate wanted a divorce, so she came to me. She didn’t want to be married anymore because I didn’t want to film anymore,” the IT director said. “I wasn’t part of the business model anymore. I was home with the nanny and watching the kids and doing all of the kids’ stuff.”

Jon and Kate, 44, split up in 2009, but the dad of eight couldn’t help but share some thoughts about his ex. “I think she has narcissistic personality disorder,” he said. “I think she tends to think more on her level of selfishness. I tend to not worry about what is going on with me, when I should sometimes. I think I tend to look more towards my kids and what is the best for them. I went through tons of therapy, I still go to a therapist. I didn’t really notice those personality disorders until after filming.”

Jon added “fame and money” played a big part in the downfall of his marriage. “And I think fame is worse than money. Fame’s different only because fame … things are given to you. You’re held to a higher standard. You’re put on a pedestal … the attention, it’s almost like a drug,” he said. “Like an addiction. And once you have that, and that lifestyle, you can see certain tendencies in people. It just … it feeds and feeds and feeds.”

Dr. Oz, 59, continued to grill the former reality star about the mother of his children. “Do you believe that Kate is an unfit mother?” the talk host asked. “Well, I believe that her belief system is skewed,” Jon admitted. “That’s what I believe. I believe that her intentions in the beginning were good intentions, but I think once fame and money got involved, it twisted her belief system.”

So, would the Pennsylvania native have still been married to Kate if they didn’t film a TV show? “A lot of people ask that, and it’s hard to live in a hypothetical,” he said. “But I think eventually because of personality, it would have fizzled out anyway. First of all, I got married at 22 years old, you just don’t know, you know?”

These days, Jon has custody of Hannah and Collin, but he’s optimistic that he can mend his relationship with the other children in the future. “They’re adults now. I think you just need maturity to figure out what … in your own mind what happened, so you can figure it out,” he told In Touch exclusively in October. “Yeah, I text [Maddy and Cara] on their birthday, but it’s kind of like, I have hoped that they’ll talk to me again or whatever.”

Meanwhile, Jon has been dating his girlfriend, Colleen Conrad, for a while now, but don’t expect wedding bells to ring any time soon. “We just look at each other like, ‘Eh.’ Because we’re both divorced, so is there a point? We love each other,” Jon dished. “We’re committed to each other.”
