There’s a Whole Lot of Shade-Throwing Toward Liam Hemsworth in Miley Cyrus’ New Video ‘Don’t Call Me Angel’

After Miley Cyrus dropped her new music video for the upcoming Charlie’s Angels soundtrack, fans pointed out that the pop star threw a lot of shade at her ex-husband, Liam Hemsworth.

The name of the tune — which also features Ariana Grande and Lana Del Ray — is called “Don’t Call Me Angel,” and of course, Miley fans made the connection that that was Liam’s nickname for the 26-year-old blonde beauty. “Happiest birthday to my favorite little angel!” the 29-year-old Hunger Games star once wrote on Instagram. “My little angel and I,” he captioned another snap.

Additionally, social media users pointed out that the guy featured in the video with Miley looks a lot like her ex. One person wrote, “For a second I thought Miley was beating up Liam. LMAO. #Don’tCallMeAngel,” while another echoed, “Miley Cyrus really beat up Liam in ‘Don’t Call Me Angel’ music video. We had to stan forever.” A third user chimed in, writing, “Miley singing, ‘I make my money, and I write the check, so say my name with a little respect’ while beating up a Liam lookalike … Here for it.”

This isn’t the first time that Miley has left some Easter eggs for her fans, either. In her emotional video for “Slide Away,” the camera panned toward the bottom of the pool where there is a card with the number 10 on it. Was Miley referring to her 10-year relationship with Liam? The Tennessee native also debuted her new tattoo in one scene that she recently got after her breakup.

In August, Miley and Liam split after eight months of marriage. Shortly afterward, the “Malibu” crooner was spotted getting cozy with Kaitlynn Carter — who also called it quits with her husband of five years, Brody Jenner this summer — during their Italian vacation.

However, Miley wanted to clear the air about what actually happened between her and the actor. “I can accept that the live I’ve chosen means I live completely open and transparent with my fans who I love, and the public, 100 percent of the time,” she wrote on August 22. “What I cannot accept is being told I’m lying to cover up a crime I haven’t committed. I have nothing to hide. I can admit to a lot of things, but I refuse to admit that my marriage ended because of cheating. Liam and I have been together for a decade. I’ve said it before, and it remains true, I love Liam and always will.”

These days, Miley has been spotted with her new 31-year-old girlfriend while Liam has been hanging out with his older brother Chris Hemsworth in Australia. Miley might have moved on quickly, but it seems like she is in a great place right now. “Miley and Kaitlynn’s relationship isn’t just for show,” a source exclusively told In Touch. “They’re genuinely in love. Miley is so happy. You’d never know she was going through a divorce. She was acting like she didn’t have a care in the world.”
