But now, insiders revealed to Us Weekly that Kaitlynn’s relationship with her ex, Brody Jenner, was over long before she was caught getting hot and heavy with her new fling.

“Brody and Kaitlynn separated on good terms and are still close friends,” a source told the outlet. Despite the fact that a rep for Brody, 36, confirmed his split from Kaitlynn, 30, in a statement to In Touch on August 2, they were actually broken up before that. They “have been separated since before the 4th of July,” the insider told Us Weekly. The source said that was “three weeks” before Kaitlynn and Miley, 26, hooked up.

Since things were over between Brody and Kaitlynn before she moved on with the “Mother’s Daughter” singer, insiders exclusively revealed to In Touch that The Hills star doesn’t mind Kaitlynn and Miley’s relationship. In fact, the exes seem so friendly that Kaitlynn and Miley sent Brody a cannabis bouquet earlier this week as a gift for his 36th birthday.

The DJ has been spotted out on dates with his new girlfriend, Josie Canseco, and insiders exclusively told In Touch that Brody and Josie, 22, are definitely heating up. “If you didn’t know better, you’d think Brody and Josie were dating for some time now,” a source exclusively told In Touch. “Their chemistry is off the charts. She’s a lot younger than him, she’s super sexy, and he’s really good looking. They can’t keep their hands off of each other. They’re clearly a good match.”
