Let’s reminisce, shall we? Back in August, Derick Dillard was slammed for cyberbullying transgender teen and TLC co-star, Jazz Jennings. Now, the Counting On star is posting about how people should never “be subjected to any form of exploitation or targeted for discrimination” and people are like — wait, what? On Wednesday, Aug. 2, Derick shared his unwarranted opinion about Jazz’s reality show, I Am Jazz. For reasons we may never understand, the father-of-two decided that it was a good idea to attack the 16-year-old trans advocate. “What an oxymoron… a ‘reality’ show which follows a non-reality,” he wrote. “‘Transgender’ is a myth. Gender is not fluid; it’s ordained by God.” This sentiment seems to contradict his most recent tweet, no?
Not-so-surprisingly, this isn’t Derick’s first rodeo when it comes to controversy. Most recently, he and his wife, Jill Duggar, took to Instagram to reveal that he took a trip to the White House, and the Facebook page Duggar Family News: Life Is Not All Pickles and Hairspray claims he did so on the public’s dime. As a result, many people slammed the 28-year-old’s “mission” trip. “So this is the ‘mission’ trip Derick was talking about on his fundraiser that got removed for violations of terms of use?” the Facebook post reads. “DerJill and Sam visited DC this week with the Cross Church School of Wizardry… I mean Ministry. How did Derick pay for this trip? I’m sure he didn’t pull up his own bootstraps.”
One person commented on Instagram, “It’s our business if it’s the taxpayers’ money he’s using or if I were to donate, I want to know how it’s being used and not for expensive steaks or out to dinner. But of course, I would never give this phony any of my money. Get a job and earn it.” Another added, “Make sure next time you go on your mission trip you tell the kids your feeding that you support a man that doesn’t want their a– in the United States.” Sigh, he just can’t catch a break, but TBH, rightfully so.
