#Awk! We Bet You Didn’t Notice Amber Heard Calling Darren Criss ‘Daniel’ At The Golden Globes
The Golden Globes are always filled with cringeworthy and awkward moments, including this gem. On Jan. 6, Amber Heard attempted to announce the winner of Best Actor in a Limited Series or Motion Picture Made for Television, and well, she failed. When she opened up the envelope with fellow presenter, Taron Egerton, to tell viewers that Darren Criss won for his role in The Assassination of Gianni Versace: American Crime Story, she mispronounced his name and called him “Daniel.” Yikes!
While the audience might not have noticed right away, Twitter went crazy with their reactions. One Twitter user wrote, “Re-watching speeches at the @goldenglobes and noticed that @realamberheard misread @DarrenCriss’s name as Daniel Criss, when he won. Girl had one job ……….,” while another echoed, “It’s Darren Criss, not Daniel, AMBER HEARD! #GoldenGlobes.” One person was just baffled that the Aquaman actress could mess up two words, writing, “Amber Heard literally had two words to say: Darren Criss.”

Neither Amber or Darren have yet to comment or acknowledge the flub. Well, at least this isn’t as bad as when John Travolta called Idina Menzel “Adele Dazeem” at the Oscars in 2014!
The 32-year-old’s mistake didn’t stop Darren from giving a heartfelt speech, where he gushed about his mom. “This has been a marvelous year for representation in Hollywood and I am so enormously proud to be a teeny-tiny part of that as the son of a firecracker Filipino woman,” the Glee alum said. “So, Mom, I know you are watching this. You are hugely responsible for most of the good things in my life. I love you dearly. I dedicate this to you. Congratulations to all of you. This is totally awesome! Thank you.”
The handsome hunk sported a Dior suit with flowers on it and posted with his fiancé, Mia Swier, on Instagram before they walked the red carpet. He captioned the snap, “Ready to rock. @goldenglobes.”

Hopefully Amber learns from her mistake for any future award shows she may be presenting at. Come on, girl!
