Todd, Julie Chrisley Face Fines Up to $60 Million After Verdict
It's no secret that Todd & Julie Chrisley are true partners. From raising their family to showcasing their engaging personalities on "Chrisley Knows Best," it's apparent that they do everything as a team. The well-known reality duo is now joining forces to tackle their health and wellness goals. Yesterday, the Chrisleys helped kick off Nutrisystem's "Better Together Week" (January 17-24) as Nutrisystem ambassadors to encourage others to lose weight together. To date, Todd has lost 13 pounds and Julie has lost 27 pounds on the Nutrisystem Partner Plan. “Better Together” is a common phrase between the couple, who combined have five children and recently celebrated their 25th wedding anniversary. Todd & Julie will make media appearances, including GMA3, throughout the week to spread the word about how setting goals with a partner can be beneficial.  Studies have shown that losing weight with a partner leads to greater success. What’s more, a recent survey showed that 71% of people are more likely to follow through with their weight loss and exercise goals if they have someone to hold them accountable. The New Year allows us to reset goals and for many Americans, weight loss is at the top of their list. That's why Nutrisystem launched the "$100,000 Better Together Partner Plan Giveaway" to give people, specifically partners, the extra push they need to get started, motivate one another and achieve their weight loss goals as a team. “COVID changed the world, and it also changed me. I had been the same weight I was since high school, but then suddenly, I gained 13 pounds,” said Todd. “I felt like my whole metabolism changed. Thankfully, Julie had been on the Nutrisystem program and I witnessed firsthand that it works. It was great because I could jump right on board with her on the Nutrisystem Partner Plan.”  For Julie as a breast cancer survivor, she says that finding Nutrisystem was a game-changer. "I am so happy and proud to say that I'm a breast cancer survivor. But along with that comes a 10-year regimen of medicine that affects you, and weight gain is one of the side effects. I also went through menopause as a result of having the breast cancer and felt like everything was stacked against me. It was discouraging, so to find something that actually worked [Nutrisystem] was, emotionally for me, such a turning point because I had been fighting my weight for 10 years." Todd added, "I saw Julie's confidence come back. I saw that she got to a place to where she felt good about being her again. When I saw the weight start falling off of her I was like, 'I'm going to do this as well.' And it truly has been something that we've bonded over. It's something that we truly do together." "I think Todd and I consider ourselves partners in everything we do," Julie says. "So to be able to incorporate Nutrisystem and be one other thing that we're partners with, I think is amazing. When you've been married as long as we have, I think anytime you can partner with your partner and do something that's going to benefit both of you, I think it's a win-win." Additional quotables below. Video assets are available by request. Additional Quotes: Todd: "It has to do with her self-confidence. It has to do with the fact that for the first time, I think in forever, she's starting to place herself at the front of the line. And that has changed her. It's a great change. It's a sexy change. When you are 18, 22, you're looking at this woman and you're thinking, 'Wow, she's so sexy.' When you are 53 and you look at your wife that you've had these kids with and you still say, 'Wow, she's sexy,' but you're looking at it from a different angle. It's through her self-confidence and I think that that has been the biggest change." "I feel like losing weight using Nutrisystem's Partner Plan has actually made us closer because it's something that we talk about. And it's kind of like a competition. Anyone that watches our show knows that the Chrisley's are hugely competitive. So, it's turned into a competition now between the two of us." Julie: "I think what has made it a success for us is the fact that it is not restricted. 'This is our breakfast, this is our lunch.' And then I may cook dinner. Or if I'm on the go or he's on the go, we have a meal. I have something ready that he can grab. Todd is all about the convenience of it. If he can grab it and eat it when he gets hungry, then he's good. It's just one thing I could take off my plate without having to think about." "I think we are each other's biggest motivator and we have been for many, many years. But I also think that seeing results is a good motivator. We both know Nutrisystem works because we see the results. For me, it is such a mental thing. If I were on a diet that was restrictive, it wouldn't work for me.”. 18 Jan 2022 Pictured: Todd and Julie Chrisley — who have collectively lost 40lbs — kicked off Nutrisystem's "Better Together Week" (January 17-24, 2022) as Nutrisystem ambassadors to encourage others to lose weight together. As Chrisley Knows Best stars Todd and Julie Chrisley both received guilty verdicts in their fraud trial, some fans were wondering what will happen to their two children who remain in their custody, Grayson and granddaughter Chloe, if both are sentenced to prison. A former U.S. attorney told In Touch exclusively that the kids could be raised by other members of the family.

“Depending on the family availability, sometimes, the kids will be raised by close family members if both parents receive prison time,” former federal prosecutor David Haas said in June.

While Todd, 53, and Julie, 49, awaited their sentencing hearing, the court can take into consideration that the couple have two minors at home, David said, and this may influence their sentencing.

On November 22, Judge Eleanor Ross sentenced Todd to 12 years in prison and sentenced Julie to seven years in prison. They each were additionally received 16 months of probation. Their former attorney, Peter Tarantino, was sentenced to three years in prison.

Todd and Julie’s daughter, Savannah Chrisley, revealed in a November 21 episode of her “Unlocked” podcast — that was recording before the sentencing hearing — that she would have “custody” of Chloe and younger brother Grayson while her parents are behind bars.

“That’s the hardest part is me trying to navigate how you teach two younger children who aren’t fully developed yet and how to get them to understand the circumstances,” Savannah, 25, said. “That’s a really, really difficult thing.”

Todd, Julie Chrisley Face Fines Up to $60 Million After Verdict

As In Touch previously reported, the reality TV stars were found guilty on June 7 in Georgia federal court after being indicted on 12 counts of fraud. They were facing up to 30 years in prison

The Atlanta federal jury convicted Todd of conspiracy to commit bank fraud, bank fraud, conspiracy to defraud the United States and tax fraud. For her part, Julie was convicted of conspiracy to commit bank fraud, bank fraud, conspiracy to defraud the United States, tax fraud and wire fraud.

Tarantino was also found guilty, being convicted of conspiracy to defraud the United States and willfully filing false tax returns. In the suit, Assistant U.S. Attorney Annalise Peters claimed the couple submitted fake documents to banks to borrow more than $30 million. She also alleged that they hid funds from the IRS.

“Disappointed in the verdict. An appeal is planned,” the couple’s lawyer said in a statement to Us Weekly on  June 7.

The Chrisleys were previously hit with fraud charges in August 2019 and a new indictment was filed in February of this year.
