FTR When Is Jurassic World Rebirth Coming Out
Same island, new dinosaurs!
From cast and release date to the inspiration behind the franchise’s terrifying mutant dino, In Touch reveals what fans are dying to know about Jurassic World Rebirth.
What Is ‘Jurassic World Rebirth’ About?
Rebirth is the seventh installment of the overall Jurassic Park franchise and the fourth Jurassic World movie. It serves as a standalone sequel to Jurassic World Dominion.
Rebirth follows Zora Bennet, an ex-CIA operative leading a team to explore the island research facility which served as the site for the original Jurassic Park.
“Their mission is to secure genetic material from dinosaurs whose DNA can provide life-saving benefits to mankind,” the IMDb summary reads. “As the top-secret expedition becomes more and more risky, they soon make a sinister, shocking discovery that’s been hidden from the world for decades.”

Who Is the Cast of ‘Jurassic World Rebirth’?
Jurassic World Rebirth boasts a star-studded cast, featuring The Avengers actress Scarlett Johansson as film lead Zora Bennett, Wicked star Jonathan Bailey as Dr. Henry Loomis, A Simple Favor actor Rupert Friend as Martin Krebs and Spider Man: Across the Spiderverse’s Mahershala Ali as Duncan Kincaid.
Other cast members include Ed Skrein as Atwater, Luna Blaise, who plays Teresa Delgado, and David Iacono as Xavier Dobbs.
Who Is the Director of ‘Jurassic World Rebirth?’
While Colin Trevorrow (Safety Not Guaranteed) directed two of the franchise’s previous installments, Jurassic World and Jurassic World Dominion, Gareth Edwards (Rogue One: A Star Wars Story) took over as director of Rebirth.
“Jurassic Park is a horror film in the witness protection program,” Gareth told Vanity Fair in an February 2025 interview. “Most people don’t think of it like that. We all went to see it as kids. But I was scared s–tless, to be honest, when I was at the cinema watching the T. rex attack. It’s one of the most well-directed scenes in cinema history, so the bar’s really high to come on board and try and do this.”

Is There a New Dinosaur in ‘Jurassic World Rebirth?’
Rebirth is set to introduce a formidable new mutant dinosaur reportedly known as the D-Rex that will give Zora Bennett a run for her money.
“When you make a creature, you get a big, massive pot and you pour in your favorite monsters from other films and books,” Gareth explained to Vanity Fair of the inspiration behind the new dino. “Some Rancor went in there, some H.R. Giger went in there, a little T. rex went in there…”
‘Jurassic World Rebirth’ Trailer
The trailer for Rebirth combines a heavy dose of nostalgia for the original Jurassic Park trilogy with a fresh cast, updated dinosaurs and an intriguing plot. It opens with an introduction of Zora, who learns she is being hired by a company to seek out the ingredients to make a cure for heart disease.
“This would be a medical breakthrough that could save countless lives,” Martin Krebs (Rupert Friend) says in a voiceover amid shots of Zora and her team exploring the island. “It comes from the largest dinosaurs on the planet. Fortunately for us, all these species exist in one isolated place.”
No matter how skilled their team is, it quickly becomes clear it’s going to be a tough fight to survive as Zora and the rest of the group can be seen running, climbing and falling off of cliffs in pursuit of dinosaurs deemed “too dangerous” for the original park.
