Wendy Williams Sets the Record Straight and Slams Robyn Crawford Dating Rumors: ‘I Like Men’
Stopping the rumor mill. Wendy Williams took to her talk show to clear the air after people started to speculate she might have been romantically involved with Whitney Houston’s ex Robyn Crawford amid dating rumors.
“I am no lesbian. I like women for friendship,” the 55-year-old said on the Tuesday, November 26, episode of The Wendy Williams Show. “I like men and I like the D,” she enforced.
The speculation of a fling between Wendy and Robyn, 56, started when a news outlet published a story accusing the two of getting cozy. “They title the article, ‘Wendy’s been looking for female companionship and Whitney’s rolling over in her grave because Wendy has found it in Robyn Crawford,”‘ she said on her show.
Not only is Wendy not gay, she added the allegations were in poor taste as Robyn is happily married. “I’m like, first of all, I’m not down with that,” said Wendy, “All due respect to the lesbians. And Robyn is married, she’s got kids and I’m not a homewrecker!”
Wendy continued to prove her point, affirming she couldn’t handle a woman. “I’ve never even been curious. It’s so complicated being a woman, I can’t imagine two of us in a relationship,” she said before adding some TMI. “Yesterday after the show, I got the surprise of my life, at 55 I got a period. I can’t deal with two women!”
Earlier this month, Robyn joined Wendy on air to discuss her new book, A Song for You: My Life with Whitney Houston. Robyn was the former assistant of and creative director for the songstress who sadly died in 2012. She confirmed she and Whitney were romantically involved.
During Robyn’s appearance on Wendy’s show, she admitted she and Whitney had beef with the former radio host. “You had been talking about Whitney and myself for so long … Everyone lived by the radio back then. We’re in the car, you’re talking like you lived with us, like you’re roommates with us. We’re in the car, sitting still and Whitney would say, ‘Who the … who is she? Who is this woman? I don’t even know what she looks like,” Robyn recalled. She added at one point the two almost drove to meet Wendy and give her a piece of their mind.
