Things are about to get weird on Bravo! The network is usually best-known for the Real Housewives franchise, but now they're taking a step into a different type of reality TV — one that's more voyeuristic and is more like a social experiment — with the new series Stripped. Keep reading below to find out more about the new show!

What is Stripped?

The premise is based on a Scandinavian TV series called Undressed, which takes a look at human consumption and consumerism. In the Bravo version, participants agree to give up all of their material possessions — including the clothes on their backs — for 21 days. But each day throughout the experiment, the participant is allowed to take back one item that they deem as an absolute necessity and once they complete the process, they'll learn more about what is really important in life.

Do the contestants actually strip?

Yes! First, they have to pack away all of their belongings and right before the experiment officially starts, they strip down completely in front of the camera crew and the producers. Afterwards, the participants are expected to go about their daily routines.

The participants learn valuable lessons.

On the season premiere, viewers will be introduced to Justin, a 33-year-old accountant, and Ali, a 31-year-old stylist. The couple agrees to embark on the 21-day challenge together, but Ali clearly has a harder time adjusting to a minimal lifestyle. In a clip from the episode, Ali is forced to go to work at a red carpet event without having hygienic items like shampoo or soap, so she couldn't shower beforehand and she arrived at the event in an old dress with no makeup on.

“This is a lot harder than I expected it to be,” Ali said during her confessional, wiping away tears. “I’ve worked my a– off to get to where I am and it doesn’t feel good when you are at an event where you're supposed to be on your A-game and you’re like, ‘I don’t even look on point.’”

Stripped premieres tonight, Tuesday Dec. 5 at 10 p.m. on Bravo.
