Uh oh! Kody Brown from TLC’s Sister Wives reportedly failed to pay some property taxes and is now facing interest on the debt, according to Radar Online. He and his family haven’t yet broken ground on the $820,000 worth of land they bought in Flagstaff, Arizona, but the interest on the property taxes seems to keep adding up.

Kody, 50, purchased a plot of land that’s around 14 and a half acres which have been divided up into four parcels or lots for each of his four wives. Kody, 50, and his third wife, Christine Brown, and last wife, Robyn Brown, seem to share a parcel that they didn’t pay taxes in the amount of $2,063.70 on — due on December 31, 2018 — so $82.55 was added in interest on that payment. That brought the total to $2,146.25, but even more interest was added when the Browns failed to make a payment on April 30, and they now owe $2,173.77, according to the Coconino County Treasurer’s Office. Eek.

They’re also being charged interest on a second parcel of land that Kody, Meri Brown and Janelle Brown are listed on, according to Radar. The 4.48-acre lot had $1,990.82 in taxes due in late December 2018, and now, interest in the amount of $79.63 was added. That brought the payment due to $2,070.45 before they also didn’t make their April payment, so the new amount due is currently $2,096.99.

But it’s not all bad news for the Browns, who recently relocated to the state from Las Vegas. The other two parcels of land plus the mortgage on Kody’s home with Christine, 47, have no outstanding payments, Radar reported.

The outlet reported that no construction has started on the property, despite Kody’s dream to build one large house for the whole family in their new state. Currently, Meri, 48, Janelle, 50, and Robyn, 40, are renting separate homes, while Christine and Kody bought a house in Flagstaff. The family lives far apart and may continue to do for so for the foreseeable future.

Plus, Radar noted that Christine’s house back in Vegas is still on the market. The price was cut to $614,900 in January 2019, down from its original list price of $675,000 in July 2018. If the reality TV family isn’t careful, they could keep owing taxes and other expenses on houses in two different states for months to come.
