Savannah Guthrie ‘Has to Return to Her Life’ Amid Ongoing Search for Nancy Guthrie

As the search for Nancy Guthrie enters its second month, her daughter Savannah Guthrie is reportedly returning from Arizona to her home in New York.

A source told Rob Shuter’s Naughty But Nice Substack on Tuesday, March 3, that Savannah, 54, “didn’t want it to be a goodbye,” but the Today anchor “can’t live in limbo forever.”

“She has to return to her life,” the source adds. “But she’s leaving a piece of her heart in Arizona.”

A sign still outside Nancy’s Catalina Foothills home reads, “Please come home,” and a source told the outlet that it “breaks [Savannah’s] heart every time she reads it.”

“She still believes. She just doesn’t know what she’s believing for anymore,” the source continues.

Nancy, 84, was last seen on January 31 after her daughter Annie Guthrie and son-in-law Tommaso Cioni dropped her off at home. A friend notified a family member the next day when Nancy didn’t show up to watch a streaming church service.

Since then, there have been few developments in the case. While Pima County Sheriff Chris Nanos has said that the scene at Nancy’s house was “seriously concerning,” no suspects have been identified.

Savannah and her siblings have made numerous pleas to bring their mother home, and on Monday, March 2, she shared a photo of a memorial of flowers set up outside of Nancy’s house.

“We feel the love and prayers from our neighbors, from the Tucson community and from around the country,” she wrote. “Please don’t stop praying and hoping with us. Bring her home.”
