‘RHOBH’ Star Teddi Mellencamp Reveals How She Healed After Having Multiple Miscarriages

Back in November, Real Housewives of Beverly Hills Star Teddi Mellencamp shockingly revealed that she had multiple miscarriages while trying to get pregnant with her second child. Now, in an exclusive interview with In Touch, the accountability coach, 37, gets real about how it was “the toughest” time in her life.

“I mean truthfully in the process, I didn’t stay so strong during that,” Teddi says, adding that she hid her pain from friends and family — including her husband, Edwin Arroyave. ”I just pretended that I was fine.”

 But with a little motivation, she was able to stay positive. “Once I started being vulnerable and once I started being open with those in my life about what was going on, I started taking action on how to change things, and that’s what really worked.”

The daughter of legendary musician John Mellencamp has been open about her fertility struggles in the past.  On an episode of RHOBH, she told the camera, “one of your biggest jobs is to make babies and when you can’t, you feel sad ‘cause you’re not able to make your baby.”

Teddi had her daughter Slate through insemination and her son Cruz through IVF. She is also the stepmom to Edwin’s daughter Isabella, whom he had from a previous relationship. While she’s blessed to have her kiddos, Teddi confessed that “not [being] able to have Cruz and then getting pregnant and having him immediately go into the NICU” was ‘’100 percent’’ one of the biggest challenges she had to overcome. However, it also shaped her into the person she is today.

“Even though it was extremely hard to get pregnant and to have my son, it created a completely different lifestyle change for me that ultimately became a business,” she explains. The fitness guru created “All In” to inspire clients from all over the world to look and feel their absolute best while managing a healthy, yet comfortable style. “Not only do I have a bunch of clients, I also am practicing a healthy lifestyle in front of my kids.”

We can always count on the reality star to have a positive attitude! After all, her tagline from season 8 was “Having the best isn’t important to me … but being my best is.”

“With everything negative, comes so many positives,” the mother of three says. “And the only thing I can say to those [who] are struggling is just be open with those people in your life and ask for help. It’s hard, but it’s worth it, and speak to those that you love or reach out to a professional, whatever you need to do. You’re not alone.”
