Can someone send Azriel Clary some love? On Sunday, December 29, R. Kelly‘s former girlfriend opened up on Twitter about needing some support. Though she didn’t explain exactly what she’s going through at the moment, she did reach out to family, friends and strangers alike. Luckily, her dad, Angelo Clary, has her back.

“I need a hug,” Azriel, 22, shared on Twitter. “And, truthfully, I wouldn’t care if it came from a person living on the street at this point. If you see me, hug me.” Though plenty of loved ones responded to her post, one in particular stood out. “Your daddy has the biggest hug for you, and it’s here for you at anytime!!!” her father wrote. “I love you deeply, my queen!!! The world will always make you feel a certain way, but it’s up to you to keep your head up and bless people that support you!!”

Though the newly blonde beauty didn’t publicly respond to her father, she did “like” his tweet. The move seems to reflect the daddy and daughter’s changing relationship. In the past, Azriel didn’t seem to be in contact with her parents, and she even slammed them in a March 2019 interview with CBS News. “My parents have actually came to Chicago and seen me a few times. They’ve — I’ve talked to them. They stopped answering my calls,” she said after they spoke out against her relationship with the controversial R&B singer. “I wouldn’t look [my dad] in the eye because he’s a liar. He’s a manipulative liar.”

Making peace with her parents isn’t the only way the 22-year-old has transformed her life since her breakup. She’s also started singing again. In December, she opened up about “finally finding confidence in something that was once a burden to me.” Despite once saying she never wanted to sing again, she revealed she changed her mind and was ready to start sharing her music on her own terms. She even posted a video of herself singing “The Christmas Song” in honor of the season. “When I’m not being controlled, yes I do [enjoy making music],” she told her followers on Instagram. “But when I’m being forced, no, I don’t.”
