Is the Real Housewives reboot The Golden Life already tarnishing?
According to a Friday, March 13, report in journalist Rob Shuter’s Naughty But Nice Substack, the upcoming E! reality show — which will star some of Bravo’s original Real Housewives of New York City cast members — is hitting some bumps in the road as filming begins in Palm Beach, Florida.
“Palm Beach society wants nothing to do with them,” a local insider told Shuter. “These women might be reality stars, but here they’re just loud tourists with cameras.”
There may already be some location issues because, the source claimed, “Some of the most prestigious clubs have already said no. Locals are livid about the circus coming to town.”

And while there is always plenty of drama among the Housewives, the Naughty But Nice report claimed that members of the cast (which includes Dorinda Medley, Luann de Lesseps, Kelly Bensimon, Sonja Morgan and Ramona Singer) are already up in arms.
“One cast member refused to film until producers promised she’d get a bigger storyline,” claimed a source. “Another demanded her glam squad be flown in first class.”
According to Shuter’s source, “Two of the women are barely speaking after a screaming match over who gets top billing in the opening credits. The show hasn’t even finished its first week of filming. And producers are already worried.”

Additionally, producers are reportedly nervous about what Singer could possibly say after she was removed from 2023’s BravoCon following allegations that she once used a racial slur, per Vanity Fair, claims she denied at the time.
“Everyone is terrified she’ll say something controversial on camera again,” a source said.
While a premiere date for The Golden Life has yet to be announced, a Naughty But Nice source said the “budget and the expectations are very different” for this show.
However, the source added, the ladies are “acting like this is still prime-time Bravo.”
