President Donald Trump is sharing his firsthand account of the relationship between John F. Kennedy Jr. and Carolyn Bessette.
On Thursday, March 26, the commander-in-chief, 79, appeared on Fox News’ The Five and was asked if he knew Kennedy Jr. back in the ’90s amid the airing of the FX Hulu show Love Story, which follows the late magazine publisher’s romance with Bessette.
“They would go down to Mar-a-Lago together, and they had a very interesting relationship,” Trump recalled. “They would bicker together, in other words, have little fights, and then they would make up and start kissing wildly. It was one of those relationships, and you never know how those relationships are going to turn out.”

“They would bicker like few people I’ve ever seen,” Trump added.
While the former real estate mogul claimed he “knew them both pretty well,” he did say he knew Kennedy Jr. “much better.”
“I actually knew him and liked him, and he liked me, believe it or not, he actually put me on the cover of his magazine, George,” Trump remarked, referring to how he was on the cover in 2000 after Kennedy and Bessette’s tragic passing in 1999.

The Apprentice alum further claimed that Kennedy “wanted to be a Broadway actor more than any other thing” and had political aspirations.
“He was a handsome guy, you don’t get better looking. He was going to run for politics. He was gonna run for the Senate, he told me,” Trump recalled. “And nobody would have beaten him, and he probably would have ended up being president because he had a lot of good things. He was sort of a great guy.”
