O.J. Simpson’s Daughter Sydney Is Dating Someone With a Criminal Past

They say women tend to date men similar to their father’s, so it’s no surprise that O.J. Simpson‘s daughter, Sydney Simpson, 32, is dating an ex-con! The disgraced football player’s second-youngest is reportedly seeing a Florida man who was once charged with a hit-and-run, according to Radar Online.

Robert Blackmon, 28, was arrested in 2009 after slamming his Cadillac into a ditch and fleeing the scene. According to a Florida state accident report, the incident occurred after a night of bar-hopping. “Blackmon said he was returning home from the 600 [block] area of W. Tennessee street and turned onto Domingo Dr.,” the report stated.

An “unknown individual” reportedly called a towing company around 2 a.m. to report that there was a vehicle in a ditch. Police found blood inside the unoccupied car and outside on the passenger door, and cops caught up with Robert at a hospital. He admitted to the accident — and coming from an area known for bars. He was found guilty of leaving the scene of a crash, careless driving, failure to report the accident, and was ordered to pay a fine. He was not, however, required to take a blood-alcohol test — something local officials are now questioning.

Despite the charges, Robert ran for a city council seat in St. Petersburg, FL. At the time, he said he wasn’t concerned about his previous charges — or his connection to the Simpson family, which also includes Sydney’s brother Justin and her half-siblings Arnelle and Jason Simpson. “If that’s the will of the people, that’s the will of the people… I hope to keep [the campaign] to the issues,” he said, adding that “the entire Simpson family are great people.” Unfortunately, he lost the election in September.
