It may be a cruel summer for Matty Healy if his ex-girlfriend Taylor Swift gets married in July like it’s been reported.
During the Thursday, May 21, episode of the Tom’s Hirschsprung’s Podcast, the 1975 frontman’s mother Denise Welch spilled the beans on when her son plans to tie the knot with fiancée Gabbriette — and it’s also in July.
When the English actress, 67, was asked about her sons Matty and Louis Healy‘s futures, she gushed over their talents and upcoming milestones.
“They have both followed careers unprompted by us — completely unprompted by us,” she said of Matty and Louis, who starred in the West End production of Stranger Things: The First Shadow.
“They were surrounded by actors and musicians growing up, you know, and I’m glad that they have both gone into music and acting separately. They’re both incredibly supportive of each other,” she added.
Noting that Matty, 37, lives in Los Angeles, she explained that the brothers don’t always see each other but are always “there for each other.”
“Matty gets married in July, which we’re very excited about,” Welch then revealed. “I’m very excited about that, and that’s wonderful.”

The Coronation Street alum said that she’s “incredibly proud” of what her sons are doing, adding: “But I’m more proud of the men that they have become.”
Matty and the “Anti-Hero” singer, 36 — who is now engaged to football star Travis Kelce — had a whirlwind romance following her breakup from Joe Alwyn.
While Swift met the 1975 singer back in 2014, they had a brief fling in 2023. However, the two have both moved on since then.
Matty is now engaged to model and musician Gabbriette (real name Gabriella Leigh Bechtel), whom he has been romantically linked to since September 2023.
While no date nor venue has been confirmed regarding Swift and Kelce’s highly anticipated wedding, a report from last month claimed the big day would be held during the Fourth of July weekend in New York City.
TMZ reported earlier this month that the couple is being so cautious that instead of sending out save-the-dates, the Life of a Showgirl artist was personally calling guests to inform them the wedding was happening this summer.
